Italian JWs growing up with the belt! Can you relate?
by Frank.L indid anyone have the same "experiences" growing up as some of us italians/europeans did?...of course our culture plays a part of who we have become in our later years and how we treat our children but pointedly im wondering if anyone raised as a jehovahs witness regularly was hit, smacked, beaten, smashed, in inventive ways that begged u to laugh .....well what i mean is that the intresting thing that stands out is that growing up in this kind of enviornment made you laugh your ass off whenever we discussed these things privately as if they were normal.
and they were so not normal.
and did anyone go through the same normal "discipline".?

Cain and Abel - where did they get the idea of a burnt offering?
by truthseeker init has always puzzled me why abel, a herder of sheep, would want to kill his own animals to offer them up to god.. prior to the flood, it would be fair to say that no one ate meat.
maybe they did, maybe they didn't, but assuming that meat.
was not eaten, why would abel's offering be better than cain's offering?.

Has anyone tried the new flight simulator feature in Google Earth? Awesome!!! (For those who haven't, hit CTRL-Shift-A and you will go into flight simulator mode. You have to have the latest version of Google Earth though).

25th Wedding Anniversary is Today. HAHA Elders!!!

25 years ago, 3 elders came to our door and said that our marriage will not work because we don't have jehovah's blessing or approval.
and for 25 years, i knew those 3 "wise" men were full of it.

BTW, Mr and Mrs Kabong will be celebrating later this evening. Perhaps I'll post the results of what we plan to do this evening within the next couple of days. Hint...It involves a KH Parking lot, (and no, we are not planning on damaging anyones property). I'm just glad that there were all those posts on this boards about KH's not having windows. HEHE.

What do you miss from yesteryear?
by greendawn ini met a childhood friend recently and he told me with nostalgia that he recalled the childhood days as being very pleasant.
i told him they would be since we were living under the protection of our parents who took care of all our needs and we had no worries about anything.
it would be like paradise.

The most irritating dub(s) you had to put up with?
by greendawn infor me it was a ministerial servant a real boor who always told me off and humiliated me for all sorts of silly reasons whenever i went to the fs group that he headed.
i soon stopped going there.
he even gave talks that were incredibly boring and brain duling and not surprisingly i recently heard that in his mid fourties he abandoned his aging wife who was of a similar age and run away with a woman in her early twenties that is half his age.
